Upgrades to Riverwood’s MacEwan Terrace Garden
Posted on: 14-05-2010 - 30-06-2010
The City of Mississauga is currently constructing a distinctive garden in the heart of MacEwan Terrace. You can explore the plans for the garden by visiting the Construction Zone Map. Although under construction until spring of 2011, Riverwood park usage, parking, programming and on-site facilities will not be affected.
Features of the garden will include:
• a variety of garden beds featuring perennials, ornamental grasses and specimen trees and shrubs
• a new primary walkway leading diagonally to MacEwan House
• an accessible pergola featuring vines and perennials
• seating areas with benches and low walls
• decorative garden fencing and stone columns
• a network of secondary paths and enhanced wetland edge
• new directional and park signage
• donor recognition signage to acknowledge those who gave to the Riverwood Fundraising Campaign
The City of Mississauga will make every effort to minimize potential disruptions to the community and our partners through out the construction process.
Update: Construction vehicles are currently on the site. All park programming and facilities are operating as usual. Construction zones will be fenced off and construction vehicles will access the site via separate entrance. Refer to the map of the park with the construction area highlighted.
