The Chappell House Gardens are designed in an Arts and Crafts style to complement Chappell House, the official home of TRC. Chappell House, just one of the heritage buildings at Riverwood, was built in 1919 in the Arts and Crafts architectural style, with lines and materials seamlessly blending with the surrounding natural environment.

Garden “rooms” showcase David Austin roses, annuals, perennials, grasses, and containers. Gardens awake from their winter slumber with a blaze of bulbs and the growing season culminates with a fall show of Toad Lily, Monkshood, and Michaelmas Daisy.

Volunteers care for the many Chappell House gardens:

• Somers Memorial Rose Garden
• Sundial Garden
• Courtyard Garden
• Terrace Garden
• Pond Garden
• Welcome Garden

Join us in the garden! Relax, connect, and have fun. Work alongside and learn from expert gardeners. Email Robin Haley-Gillin, our Volunteer Coordinator, call her at 905-279-6792, or visit Become a Volunteer for more information.

A major garden project is planned at Riverwood on MacEwan Terrace.  We anticipate the first shovel in the ground in November 2009.
